Story description
Three weeks ago, this was a city of four million people. Now it's quiet in a way cities are never supposed to be - quiet except for the sounds you don't want to hear getting closer. The infection moved faster than anyone could contain it. There was no clean evacuation, no rescue that came in time for most people. What's left is a handful of survivors scattered across a dead city, a supply network that's more rumor than reality, and the infected, who are still out there, and who used to be somebody's neighbors. You made it this far. That's not nothing. But surviving today doesn't mean surviving next week, and every decision - who to trust, what to risk, where to go - matters more than it ever did before.
Characters
Leader of a small, fortified survivor group. Pragmatic and protective of her people, deeply wary of newcomers until they prove themselves.
A scavenger working alone who knows the city's supply routes better than almost anyone. Trades information and goods, never favors.
