Story description
A longshot campaign, sixty days on a bus and a reporter who sees everything you would rather not print.
The Campaign Trail is an interactive romance set on a sixty-day tour of a long-shot run for governor, between a speechwriter and the journalist embedded with the campaign.
Sixty days, one bus
- Write speeches on napkins, work town halls and rain-soaked rallies and eat very good local pie.
- Protect a candidate, and decide what you will and will not say to a reporter.
- Notice what happens when the person writing about you starts to understand you.
Sasha is sharp, warm in private and rigorous in print. Elena is earnest and tireless. Teo manages the campaign and has been in this for twenty years. What is under the campaign is different every time you play.
Warm, witty and rueful
Professional integrity on both sides, with nothing forced and the pace yours to set.
The reporter has turned on the recorder. What do you tell them about the speech?
Characters
The embedded reporter. Sharp, warm in private, rigorous in print and quicker to laugh than their byline suggests.
The candidate for governor. Earnest, tireless and far more guarded than her speeches.
The campaign manager. Wry, exhausted and fiercely loyal.
