Awakened is an interactive superpower thriller set in a contemporary world still learning how to live with extraordinary abilities. Governments register the changed. Corporations recruit them. A black market offers ways to hide, suppress, or enhance what they can do. Until today, this was something that happened to other people.

Discover what changed in you

Your ability emerges through your actions as you explore what is possible. Early manifestations are uncertain and difficult to control, and the rules of your power develop with the story. Being unclassified makes you interesting to organizations that would prefer to define those rules for you.

Your ordinary life has become evidence

At first, the problem may be as small as explaining what somebody just saw. A friend notices that something impossible happened around you. An attempt to repeat it produces a different result. You have to decide whether to laugh it off, ask for help, or admit that you do not understand your own body and instincts anymore. Your power develops alongside those decisions, through what you try and how it responds.

Control brings new questions. Who would you use the ability to protect? What would you keep hidden even from someone you trust? When an experiment has a consequence you did not predict, you are the one who must live with it. The story gives your changing relationships room to matter before the larger institutions close in.

Listen carefully to the offers

The Bureau's registration process may promise reassurance while treating uncertainty as a reason for scrutiny. Meridian can offer expertise and resources that would be difficult to find alone, accompanied by expectations of loyalty. Staying independent has costs too. Their interest makes your choices about secrecy and exposure increasingly personal: letting someone help can also mean giving them influence over the person you are becoming.

Who gets to decide what you become?

The Ashgate Bureau promises oversight. Meridian Dynamics promises opportunity. Both have reasons to take an interest in someone like you, and neither offer is simple.
