Story description
The snow has closed the road, the telephone is dead and the host is dead in his library. Everyone in the house had a reason.
Murder at Pennyfold Manor is an interactive cozy whodunit set over one snowed-in weekend at a rambling country house. You are a guest, and you are the one who notices.
A manor full of suspects
- Question the guests and staff, search the rooms and compare alibis until the story stops adding up.
- Work with Mrs. Dunmore, who has kept the house for thirty years and sees everything, and with Lady Cecily, who is hiding something personal.
- Face Inspector Fenwick, who arrives by morning and has questions of his own.
Who killed Sir Alistair, how and why is different every time you play, and every guest has a real motive and a real secret. The answer is always fair: you could have worked it out from what you found.
Tea, snow and polite menace
Witty golden-age atmosphere, with warmth and humor beside real suspicion. Death stays off the page.
You have a body, a locked window and a house full of suspects. Who do you speak to first?
Characters
The housekeeper who has run Pennyfold for thirty years. Warm, brisk and discreet, she notices everything and shares only what she chooses.
The dead man's sister. Sharp, elegant and unsentimental, and apparently hiding something personal.
A rumpled local officer who reaches the manor on skis by morning. He takes the case seriously and trusts the player's observations.
