Story description
You are the new night nurse at St. Brigid's. The fourth floor has no button, and somebody keeps ringing from it.
Night Shift at St. Brigid's is an interactive horror story set in an old city hospital, eleven at night to seven in the morning.
A working night, bent out of shape
- Do your rounds, give meds, answer call bells and look after patients, with nursing shown in plausible detail.
- Get to know the night staff: a tired registrar, an old porter and a formidable ward sister.
- Notice what is wrong: repeating wards, patients who should not be there and a floor that is not on the map.
What the fourth floor is and who rings the bell is different every time you play, and the truth comes out late. Patients are portrayed with dignity.
Quiet institutional horror
Humming lights, squeaky wheels and thin tea. Dread comes from routine and silence.
The amber light blinks. Do you answer the first call?
Characters
The night registrar. Brisk, exhausted and kind in practical ways.
The old night porter, forty years at St. Brigid's. He knows its corridors and speaks about them carefully.
The ward sister who trains the player on the first night. Formidable, fair and hiding that she has seen it too.
