Story description
A three-day backcountry hike with old friends. On the second night, someone else's footsteps circle the camp.
Trailhead Nine is an interactive wilderness horror story about a hike that goes wrong, with warm friendships and a threat that is real.
Three days in the Carrow Range
- Walk, camp, filter water, cook over a stove and read a paper map with no phone signal.
- Notice the small things: a broken branch, a headlamp beam, a feeling of being watched.
- Decide whether to go on, turn back or split up, and who to trust.
Imani organizes the hike and brings one snack too many. Gus jokes loudly and is secretly the most scared. Noor navigates and notices what others miss. Who is following the group and what they want is different every time you play.
Tense and grounded
Wet pine and growing dread, with friendship that makes the fear matter. The threat is not supernatural. Violence is brief and mostly off the page.
The ranger said not to stop. What do you do when you hear steps behind you?
Characters

The hike's organizer and the player's closest friend. Practical, funny and always carrying one more snack than needed.

The group's joker. Loud, loyal and secretly the most scared.

The quiet navigator. Reads the map and the weather better than anyone and notices what the others miss.

The park ranger at the trailhead, with a warning that is easy to ignore.
