Story description
One vault. Five shares. Enough money to disappear, if everyone at the table is telling the truth.
One Clean Job is an interactive heist thriller that puts you inside a crew preparing to crack Kessler & Voss, a private vault company with a reputation for being untouchable. You are the newest member, recruited for a skill that takes shape through your own characterization. The others have history together. You have to decide how much of it matters.
Build the plan before it is tested
- Help case the target, gather resources, and challenge assumptions before the job begins.
- Learn what the crew can do and what they are reluctant to discuss.
- Choose whose judgment to trust when technical problems and personal agendas start overlapping.
Vera, the planner, vouches for you. Danny understands security systems and is visibly uneasy about this particular score. Marguerite handles problems at close quarters and reveals very little. Resolving a tension during preparation could be as valuable as finding a weakness in the vault.
Choose what you bring to the crew
Your role develops in the opening conversations: what you are good at, why Vera recruited you, and how you handle people who are still deciding whether you belong. The planning phase gives you room to ask uncomfortable questions. Why this vault? Why now? Why does a specialist who understands the security seem so uneasy about the target?
Small decisions can become important later. You might push for more reconnaissance, help resolve a disagreement, or trust that someone has already checked a detail you do not understand. The crew's competence makes the plan plausible; their reluctance to share everything makes it uncertain. You have to work out which uncertainty deserves attention before preparation ends.
Stay useful when the plan meets reality
Once the job begins, the choices made around the table follow you inside. A relationship you strengthened can help people cooperate under pressure, while an ignored concern can resurface when there is less time to address it. Your own priorities may shift as you understand what the others are risking. The money explains why the crew came together, but the story's tension lives in deciding what you can ask of one another when everybody's version of a successful night turns out to be slightly different.
Preparation follows you inside
The caper unfolds through both planning and execution. Details you investigate, dismiss, or leave unresolved can become assets or complications when there is less time to think.
The plan is on the table. What needs checking before you put your life behind it?
